No, as per the official notification, there is no minus marking in the PTET exam. The PTET 2026 does not have a negative marking encouraging candidates to attempt all questions without having to worry to loose any marks. This will allow them to maximize their scoring chances by making educated guesses where needed.

To prepare for the PTET exam effectively, candidates can follow the steps mentioned below - 

  • Candidates must first, go through the syllabus and exam pattern.

  • Based on that, they must create a study timetable covering by all the subjects. While making the time table, they must focus on the weak subjects more.

To prepare for the PTET exam candidates can refer to the following Some recommended books for PTET 2025 preparation are:

  • Mental Ability: "A Modern Approach to Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning" by R.S. Aggarwal.

  • Teaching Aptitude: "Teaching Aptitude & Attitude Test" by Arihant Publications.

  • General Awareness: "Lucent's General Knowledge" and newspapers like The Hindu.

  • Language Proficiency: "English Grammar & Composition" by Wren & Martin.
    Candidates can choose the books that cover the whole of the syllabus comprehensively and must practicing of past year questions in their preparation strategy.

As per the official syllabus of PTET 2025, the questions will be based ion the following subjcts - 

  • Mental Ability: This subject will have question from Reasoning, logical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving.

  • Teaching Aptitude & Attitude: This subject will have questions from Leadership qualities, creativity, communication skills, and general awareness of education.

  • General Awareness will have questions from Current affairs, Indian history, politics, geography, and educational policies.

Candidates must carry the following items to the PTET 2026 exam center:

  • Printed copy of the PTET admit card

  • A valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Passport, etc.)

  • A blue or black ballpoint pen for marking answers on the OMR sheet

  • Electronic gadgets, calculators, and study materials are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.

The PTET 2025 reservation policy follows the guidelines set by the Rajasthan government. The approximate category-wise reservation is as follows:

  • SC: 16%

  • ST: 12%

  • OBC: 21%

  • EWS: 10%

  • MBC: 5%

  • Women: 20% (including 8% for widows and divorced women)

  • PWD: 3%

  • Ex-servicemen: 5%
    Candidates must provide valid category certificates to avail the reservation benefits.

The PTET scores are valid for the current academic year in which the exam is being held. For example with he scores of 2026 scores, candidates will not be able to take admisison inthe 2027 session. Candidates who qualify in PTET 2026 can seek admission to BEd programs in Rajasthan for the 2026-27 academic session. If a candidate does not take admission in the given year, they will need to appear for PTET again in the next session to apply for BEd admissions.

Candidates will be able to  check their allotted exam center details through the PTET admit card 2026. The hall ticket will consist of the exam center details such as candidate's name, address, and reporting time. It is advised to visit the exam center location a day before the exam to avoid any last-minute confusion. Latecomers will not be allowed to enter the exam hall, so candidates should reach the center well in advance.

As per the officia notification, the PTET 2026 exam pattern consists of a single paper with four sections:

  • Mental Ability (50 questions, 150 marks)

  • Teaching Attitude & Aptitude Test (50 questions, 150 marks)

  • General Awareness (50 questions, 150 marks)

  • Language Proficiency (English/Hindi) (50 questions, 150 marks)

  • The time duration of the exam is of 3 hours duration, with a total of 200 questions carrying 600 marks. There is no negative marking.
