Given I = 2r

μ 1 = 1 ( A i r )

μ 2 = 2 n

by, Snell's law

μ s i n i = μ 2 s i n r

1 f = μ g - 1 1 R 1 - 1 R 2

1 f l = μ g μ l - 1 1 R 1 - 1 R 2

(i) f l f = μ g - 1 μ g μ l - 1 = 1.5 - 1 1.5 1.41 - 1 = 8.875 9

When glass slab is not put in between lens and screen

1v1u=1f

1121240=1f...... (1)

When glass slab is put in between lens and screen

Shift = t (11μ)=1 (111.5)=13cm

3351x=1f......... (2)

With the help of equations (1) and (2), we can write

3351x=1121240

|Δu|=560240=320cm=3.2m

Using snell's law –

sin I = ? s i n ? r

->sin45° =  ? s i n 3 0 °

? = s i n 4 5 s i n 3 0 = 1 2 * 2 = 2

Angular magnification, θ = | f 0 f e |

Length of tuber L = | f 0 | + | f e |

| f 0 | + | f e | = 3 0 c m

A s , | f 0 f e | = 2

| f 0 | = 2 | f e |

| f 0 | + | f 0 | 2 = 3 0 | f 0 | = 2 3 * 3 0 = 2 0 c m

For refraction of light at lens

1v160=120

1v=1201601v=3160=130

v = 30 cm

If image has to be formed at object itself then light ray should retrace its path. Hence after refraction at lens, it must strikes normally to the mirror

RM = 20 cm Radius of curvature of mirror

Fm = 10 cm focal length of mirror
