SBI clerk Pattern

State Bank of India (SBI) prescribes SBI Clerk exam pattern for the SBI Clerk preliminary exam. The exam format of SBI Clerk include details of total marks, marking scheme, sectional timings, overall timings, numbers of sections, number of subjects, etc. SBI Clerk exam pattern is divided into prelims and mains exams. The prelims exam of SBI Clerk comprises three sections-English, Reasoning and Quant. The total marks allotted to the exam are 100. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for final selection. The mains exam pattern is such that it carries questions from General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. The exam carries a total of 200 marks.

There is no difference between the IBPS Clerk and SBI Clerk exam pattern. The level of both exams is the same. The pattern of both the exams is divided into prelims and Mains. The prelims exam carries three sections Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. The level and difficulty of the exam are also the same. In terms of career growth, an SBI Clerk may be promoted to a post equivalent to a Probationary Officer within 3 to 4 years of appointment. However, it may take more years for an IBPS Clerk to become an Officer in the Organisation. Recruitment is only for the selection of candidates for SBI Probationary Officers. The SBI PO exam level is tougher than the IBPS PO. The SBI PO recruitment process is done in the following three stages. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the Mock Selection Exam for Officers/ Administration.

SBI Clerk exam comprises prelims and Mains exams. The prelims exam comprises three sections-English, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. A total of 100 questions are asked in the exam. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list. Candidates qualifying the prelims exam are called for the Mains exam. The Mains exam comprises four sections: General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. The test paper will have a total of 190 questions. The total marks for the test are 200. The marks obtained in the Mains exam are counted for the final merit list.
