No, candidates who wish to apply for Jindal School of Journalism and Communication PhD admissions do not require candidates to have prior work experience. However, candidates who can prove three years of work experience in the relevant fields will be given preference during Jindal School of Journalism and Communication admissions.

Jindal School of Journalism and Communication scholarships are offered only to the eligible students. The Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship is offered students based on the following criteria:

• Annual family income of the student
• Qualifying examination score
• JSAT or standardised exam results
• Faculty interview score
• Curricular and non curricular achievements also add a weightage

To be eligible for the B.A. (Hons.) Journalism and Media Studies at JSJC, applicants must have completed the 10+2 level of schooling or its equivalent in humanities, science, or commerce, with a minimum aggregate score of 60% from CBSE, ISC, State Boards, IB, Cambridge, or other government-recognized boards.
