M.E./M.TechCandidates completed B.E./ B.Tech. in Food Technology/Food Process Engineering /Agricultural Engineering/Agricultural and Food Engineering/Food Technology and Management/ Food Processing and Preservation Technology/Dairy Technology/Food Science and Technology/Food Processing Technology/Post Harvest Technology/Fisheries Engineering with a minimum OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 7.00 out of 10 or 70% aggregate (Pass marks for SC/ST Candidates) from any recognised university are eligible to apply.
Candidate must have also qualified IIFPT Entrance Examination.
B.E. / B.TechCandidate must have passed VIII, IX, X, XI & XII Std. from schools situated in Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu native candidate who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI & XII Std. or their equivalent exam from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply. They should produce Original Nativity Certificate.
Children of Central Government Employees, irrespective of their nativity, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years can be eligible to apply.
Sons & daughters of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are eligible to apply. A Self declaration from the parent in this regard is to be produced.
Children of employees in the Public Sector or Government recognised institutions had been working in their organisations for the past five years are also eligible, irrespective of their domicile.
Other State candidates who have studied VIII, IX, X, XI and XII Std. in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply.

Drawing from past WCC and other college cut-offs for similar commerce programs, a score of 450 out of 800 on the CUET (or 56.25%) might be on the edge of or marginally below the anticipated cut-off for general category students.

The admission procedure for each of the courses of Kazi Nazrul University is different. Some of them admit students on the basis of academic merit and some admit students on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam. It admits students in their B.Tech course on the basis of the WBJEE rank of the candidate. Kazi Nazrul University offers three branches in B.Tech program. The cutoff rank for each of them varies every year and is also different for different categories.
