There are many cultural events occur in University throughout the year, like Saraswati Puja, Holi Milan Samaroh, Sarhul, Foundation Day, Annual Sports Meet, Agro Tech Kisan Mela, Diwali Party, Christmas Gathering.Despite of these events many sports related activity like Volley ball match, basketball match, badminton competition, etc. as well as academic related activity like quiz competition, elocution competition, poster making, dance competition, slogan writing etc.always use to happen in UAS. The main cultural fest is "ANIFEST" This festival is annually celebrated jointly by the state as well as central agricultural Universities. The prestigious Agri-Unifest, a five days cultural extravaganza, would bring together over 2000 talented youth from different parts of the country. Students from 74 State Agricultural Universities/ Deemed Universities/ Central Universities showcase their skills in music, dance, literary, theatre and fine arts events. The hallmark of the Agri-Unifest is a unique blend of many cultures. University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore.

Here are few points which I think can be helpful if you're starting a new phase of life as a first year student UAS.

• Stay calm and collected. It is very influencing to get swayed away with the overall buzz of Bangalore city.

• Make good friends and if possible make friends with the local students (it will be of great help).

• Have proper information about the College and the hostel facilities.

• Never ever skip the semester exams as it can be a huge burden to clear up the backlogs later on.

Well, I'm sure there are thousand more information that one can tell you but one thing to always keep in mind. When you are good, the world would be good to you!

If the student fails in internal examination there is no retest or any other option to get passed in internal however you have to obtain 50% marks in the subject to get passed. So if you get failed in subject you have to obtain 50+ marks in external. The following is the passing criteria of external in UAS.

The evaluation of student’s performance shall be made separately

for each course registered by the student.

2. Each course shall carry a maximum of 100 marks.There shall be

an external examination to the extent of 50 per cent of marks as

detailed in regulation 9.0

3.The evaluation of the student in each course will be referred to

as grading under ten point scale and shall be measured by the

quality of performance in that course by assigning course grade

points.

4.Student obtaining grade point of less than 5.00 in a course will be

declared as failed in that course. The grade of such student will

be indicated as F. The courses with Grade Point of 5.00 or more

will be treated as cleared, except as in regulation 11.0

5.The student shall repeat the course (s) in which he / she has

obtained grade till a minimum grade point of 5.00 is obtained either

by registering as a regular course or by taking supplementary

examination as laid down under regulation 11.0
