Both the courses are good as biotechnology is redefining the boundaries of science, to become a part of such an innovative field you must posses an inherent attitude of originality and imagination. You have not mentioned anything about yourself. Why break after graduation? Normally for M Sc you would need to have done B.Sc. I suggest have a look at the different courses offered by IGNOU. I think this is best solution for you.

If you did not appear for NIFT conducted entrance exam, 2017 for in February, then you have the option open for Biotechnology. You may go for B.Sc. Biotechnology Honours or B.Tech in Biotechnology.

Its not compulsary to opt for maths in HSC for the course that you mentioned. But ideally, its preferable to opt for maths as you may require those skills in your future. Also, in case you change your plan and want to opt for something else after 12th, maths is preferable.
