Students from any stream, with or without Science, can enroll as a student in a GNM course. GNM, or General Nursing and Midwifery, is a course of 3 years and 6 months for those candidates who want to specialize in Clinical Nursing.

Minimum requirement now being sought after in this course is Grade 12 from any stream with a minimum score of 40% in prerequisite tests. Candidates necessarily have to study English in their Class 12 curriculum as the only criterion.

No entrance test will be conducted to admit students into the Government Medical College and Hospital course in B.Sc. Nursing; instead, the candidates have to wait for their 12th-grade results because then, only the prudent college will decide. Usually, B.Sc. Nursing courses in government institutions like Government Medical College and Hospital require written examinations and standard test scores for admission. So the interested candidate can visit the official website of GMCH or the admissions office for further information.

In 2023, the CUET (Common University Entrance Test) cutoff at Madras Christian College (MCC) is different depending on course and student category.ally, It usually tends to go high for commonly taken courses and those in the general category Conversely, for instance 85% – 90% age percentile is usually considered when looking specifically at these sets of courses. Nonetheless, precise cutoff information may be obtained from the institution’s website; alternatively one may wait until official admission notification comes out.

SLNIMS is one of the good and reputed colleges in Pondicherry. But just like any other college this also has its own pros and cons, therefore to call it the "best" college is subjective and depends on various factors such as your educational needs, courses you want, and other personal preferences.
