Siliguri Institute of Technology commonly referred to by the acronym SIT is classified as a Second Tier Engineering Institute. SIT however is a good choice for students who would like to pursue the course in engineering education in the North Bengal region. It can be a good local school and the learning experience there could be decent, however, it is likely that the research, faculty and

While SIT offers good placement among the companies which recruit B.Tech IT learners, it does not ensure the application of 100% placement. As per to the information available on the website, B.Tech IT placement percentage is nearly 90-95%. Top recruiters include:

- TCS
- Infosys
- Wipro
- Cognizant
- IBM
- Capgemini

A moderate challenge for B.Tech aspirants is what SIT here offers. It is quite good academically to maintain a balance between theory and practice. Assignments, quizzes, and tests are constantly given out as workload distribution among students is normally kept even. The faculty members are good in the sense that they lend their support to students without them hesitating on who to approach upfront.
