It depends on several things: which category you belong to (General / OBC / SC etc.), whether it's CUET score or rank, and which round of counselling. But I've found some data which gives a rough idea.

From recent years at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), for B.Tech Civil Engineering in the General category:

The closing CUET score was about 86.95 in 2023 for Civil.

In 2025, the cutoff “marks” range for B.Tech Civil is projected to be between 516–560 in General category.

Also in Round 1 of 2025, the Civil Engineering cutoff for the General category was 525 marks.

But many civil students also get jobs in IT, consultancy, banking, government exams.

Sure! Here's a brief description:

BTech in Civil Engineering is not just for outdoor enthusiasts—it's a mix of both field and office work.

You'll study how to design, build, and maintain structures like buildings, bridges, and roads.

Outdoor work includes site visits, surveying, and supervising construction.

Indoor work includes designing using software, planning projects, testing materials in labs, and managing resources.

It's a good choice if you're interested in infrastructure, problem-solving, and don't mind a balance of technical and practical tasks. You can choose your career path based on whether

You got 58.24 percentile in JEE Mains under SC category.

With this score, it is hard to get Civil Engineering in top NITs.

But you could get admission in a few low-rank GFTIs or private schools.

If you want a higher college, you must put together again and try to rating better within the next JEE try.
