Hi Daksh!
In order to prepare well for the SET exam, first you should be aware about the syllabus. There are totally 150 questions and the students are asked to complete the test within two and half hours. The five areas of the question are
English
Quantitative
General awareness
Analytical Reasoning
Logical Reasoning
Second, Time management is of utmost importance. Calculate the estimate time you are giving for preparations and divide it equally as per the syllabus. General category candidate must secure at least 40% marks in Paper I & Paper II and must secure at least 50% marks in Paper III.
OBC category candidate must secure at least 35% marks in Paper I & Paper II and must secure at least 45% marks in Paper III.
SC/ST and PWD candidates must secure at least 35% marks in Paper I & Paper II and must secure at least 40% marks in Paper III.

SET stands for State Eligibility Test. The candidates who want to go for assistant professor or junior fellowship award, can apply for the SET or NET exam.
The minimum eligibility for the NET/Set exam is post graduation degree. you need to complete the post graduation degree to be eligible for the exam with minimum 55% marks.
After the successfully completion of the exam you will awarded a certificate through which you can apply for vacancies in national universities.
