If you want to do government lecturer job, then you will require to qualify NET/SET exam after completion of your Master's degree. You can get lecturer job in private institution without qualifying this exam, but there you need to compromise with your salary. By having SET, you can only get the teaching job within your state only. You cannot get the job outside of your State.

The exam is SET and not STE. For this exam, you need to have passed class 12th or 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one subject from Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational. Besides this, candidates are required to have appeared and qualified SET 2018, JEE Mains 2018 or MHTCET 2018.

The question would have not arised if you had known the difference between teacher and Lecturer. B.Ed is for School teachers whereas SET or NET is to be cleared in order to pursue Doctorate Degree and to for a career of Professor. Thanks and all the best.

In order to prepare well for the SET exam, first you should be aware about the syllabus. There are totally 150 questions and the students are asked to complete the test within two and half hours. The five areas of the question are
English
Quantitative
General awareness
Analytical Reasoning
Logical Reasoning
Second, Time management is of utmost importance. Calculate the estimate time you are giving for preparations and divide it equally as per the syllabus. Adjust your time and try to solve each question within the prescribed timing. Make a suitable time-table for preparation as per your routine and include short breaks between the l
