Placements are good. See, it depends on the company, if they want a person for the research work then they will only hire M.Tech students and if they don't then they will not hire those students.

Yes, sure you can give the exam without the Biology subject. It is not compulsory to know everything. However, class 10th standard knowledge is enough.

The question you are asking is very tricky. Please get a clarity about what subject you would want to pursue. If you get a subject you might not like in a great college. It might not be interesting and hence it loses its importance. So, get a clear idea of which subject you want pursue and then explore college options.

If you reported to the institute, in that case, you have to withdraw the seat but in case you have not reported then you are eligible for spot round. Purely depends on you, your hard work and your preference. Since you are from mechanical, as a fresher, if you are gifted and skilled, you have a vast boundary but if you are a little bit on the downside, then you will be in a problem. Take GATE and get a good score, and SAIL, BHEL, etc. will be ready to take you. SIT has a good placement record, but for mechanical- nope!
