Maximum 30 years
Candidate must have participated at the College/ District/ University level competition in any one of the games or sports, Must be medically fit and free from physical deformities approved by any Government Medical Officer, Should have secured at least 50% marks in the selection tests conducted by the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.
Admission Process
Written Test
Eligible candidates need to appear for the Written Test conducted by the university.
Physical Fitness Test
Shortlisted candidates are called for Physical Fitness Test based on score obtained in Written Test.
Final Selection
Candidates are selected based on marks obtained in Written Test and performance in Physical Fitness Test.

It is not a requirement that one has to be a sportsman to be in this field, even managerial aspirants can enter sports industry after completing the course in sports management. But many sports management professionals are former athletes themselves. Some are trained in other professional disciplines, such as law, accounting, or business management, and come to sports management via their original careers.
Sports management courses are offered at Post-graduate Diploma levels. At present institutes offering this management, course are few in India. However, outside India, there are many institutes and scope is also much more there. Eligibility to take a post-graduate course is graduation. Though candidates from any stream can take up studies in sports management, graduates in physical education are much preferred.
You could also go in for a Bachelors in Physical Education (BP.Ed) or related course in the particular sports of your liking and enter into the career of sports management. The Sports Authority of India conducts courses in physical education that you can take up.
A course in sports management covers subjects such as sports management theory, sports marketing, fundraising, promotions, public relations, ethics in sports management, legal aspects of the sport, facility planning and management, sport management problems and issues, and risk management.

There are several career options for the sports management. The students gain a comprehensive understanding of the multi-dimensional importance and the value of sport. The candidates would also acquire business skills relating to public relations, marketing, and entrepreneurship, which would assist them in the administration of institutions engaged in various sporting activities. The students are exposed to the tools and techniques of sports administration including those of event management as well as acquaint them with contemporary trends and issues in sport. The sports Science section would cover sports medicine, sports psychology, sports physiology, sports therapy and health promotion. The MBA students are prepared for positions in management, marketing, public relations, communications, facility and event management, sales, programme development, and human resource management.
