In India, caste is based on birth, not marriage. So even after marrying into a Punjabi Hindu family, your caste category does not automatically change to your husband's caste.

If you were born into a reserved category (like SC) and have a valid caste certificate issued in your name, you can usually use that for a law entrance exam — as long as it matches your official records and the exam's eligibility rules.

Marriage alone does not cancel your caste status, and it also does not give you your husband's caste for reservation benefits.
