No, for admission into Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences or its affiliated colleges, eligible candidates must appear for the course-specific entrance exam. For example, the UG level BSc Nursing course requires candidates to appear for an entrance exam consisting of Class 10 & 12 subjects, including Physics/Chemistry/Biology/English in that order of preference.

The last date to apply for Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences will depend upon the course and level of the course the candidates wish to opt for. Here is a general overview: BPMT candidates must apply before June 15, 2025, BSc Nursing candidates must apply before 29 May 2025, BPharma candidates must apply before 23 May 2025. To enroll in the BPharma programme of Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, a candidate must follow the steps below:
Step 1: Log in to the college portal.
Step 2: Click on the Entrance Exams Tab.
Step 3: Select 'Pharmacy' as your course preference from the list.
Step 4: Click on Application Form.
Step 5: Fill required details and upload documents.
Only candidates who receive a seat in a college that offers MBBS under SSUHS Assam will receive admission.

Eligible candidates must pay an admission fee of INR 18,000 for enrollment into the BSc Medical Technology programme at Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences. To pay this fee, candidates must log in to the official college website and click on the Fee Collect tab. Candidates must choose the payment category as Student and select the Admission Fees category.

The number of seats for the MBBS is dependent upon the number of affiliate colleges under Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences that offer MBBS as a programme and their respective intake capacity. Candidates who appear for the MBBS Entrance Exam for admission into the SSUHS Assam MBBS programme will have to specify their preferred locations/institutions during the counselling process, and depending on their score and preferences, will seat allocation will be determined for the candidate.

Yes, Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences has been recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as a State Government University that is eligible to receive aid from the central government, and has been empowered to award degrees through its own departments and constituent/affiliated colleges. Furthermore, it has been recognised by the State legislature of Assam with the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences Act, 2007.

Yes, the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences is a government-owned university. It was established in 2009 by the State legislature of Assam with the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences Act, 2007. Furthermore, Sankaradeva University Guwahati is the only Health Sciences University in the whole of the North-Eastern Region.

Yes, Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences is a university for interested candidates who wish to pursue a Health Sciences/Medical programme in the North-Eastern region. Sankaradeva University Guwahati, is the only Health Sciences University in the whole of the North-Eastern Region that has jurisdiction over the whole of Assam by the State legislature of Assam.
