VIT and SRM are good universities. Have heard good about them. However, I cant tell you much about their programs. I can suggest you a top ranking university - LPU for B Tech in ECE. Electronics and Communication are the two most happening entities of modern technology. This is the reason that ECE graduates find jobs easily in both the public and private sectors. The ECE students can also show the flexibility of choosing software over hardware. At LPU the B Tech ECE course is an Engineering programme that seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic sciences to technology with relevant practice through labs and projects for building problem-solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place. Students will develop competence in areas like Signal Processing, Communication Systems, VLSI Design, Embedded systems, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, automation, 5G Technology, etc. The course has Contemporary Curriculum, Professional Enhancement programme, Industry Immersion programme, Projects, Industrial Visits, Career Paths, Interdisciplinary Minors, industrial input, innovative pedagogy, and holistic development programs. The department has State-of-the-art labs such as Cadence, LabView, Opti System that have been established through university programs. Centers of excellence have been established by eminent corporations. The highest package offered for the ECE programme at LPU is 31 LPA and the average package is 5.1 LPA and 32k was the highest internship paid. So far in LPU ECE students have been placed in companies like LG Electronics, Amazon, Synopsys, L&T Infotech, PEGA, hp, LG Soft India, Capgemini, Hind Rectifiers, Sasken Communication Technologies, Panasonic Energy India, Effectual Services, Infineon technologies, Bobble AI, Frugal Testing, Coriolis Technologies, L&T Services, DXC Technology, Cypress Semiconductors, Federal Bank, Mercer Mettle, Nylocore Transmissions, Sagacious Research, Bristlecone, Medtrail, Jakson Engineering, Akzo Nobel, High Radius, Mygate, programme Power, Spectraforce Technologies, Aegis, Goldman Sachs India Bosch, Ericsson, Cypress, Luminous, Adobe, Drishti, Infineon, Verizon, VMWARE, Samsung, Hexaware, Lutron, Josh, and Alight Solutions.

SRM is a very good university. I can't do this comparison. I can only give you an overview of LPU since I am a faculty at LPU. The campus of 600+ acres – It may be not of interest to a student as of the Vast area, you'll only be having a particular block for your academics, eight hostels for boys and Six for girls. Your will need a place to stay so hopefully there's more than enough space to accommodate you. That's a plus point. Security measures for girls - If you're a girl and decide to reside in a hostel, you'll have to mark your attendance daily in the hostel to the floor warden and be in the hostel within the entry timings that are 6:00-6:30 in winters and 07:30 in summers probably. So if you don't enter into hostel till that time, you have to face the warden and see for any consequences. That's a bit harsh. While girls may not like this but I am sure their parents would surely do. But if you want to live somewhere else, there are plenty of PGs near the University. You can decide what's best for you, but you'll be super safe inside the hostels than in PGs that's for sure. You can go to the library from 08:00 PM to 12:00 AM. But will be accompanied by a guard from your hostel to the library. More than 200 courses are offered to range from Diploma to PG - You are probably going to find the best course for you among these. That's for sure. Another plus point is that 75% aggregate attendance is mandatory. You'll need to maintain a baseline of 75% aggregate attendance in order to be eligible to give exams. That's harsh and they won't accept any medical leaves or anything. Literally nothing they will accept from you. If you fall below 75% , you are not going to be eligible for final exams until you possess a good percentage in the last term. In that case, they'll provide you with some grace. That's a good point. Also, they have marking criteria for attendance. As your attendance increase or decrease, you'll have marks ranging from 2-to 5. That's for you to decide whether it's a plus point for you or not. Placement - Yes. Students do get placed from the university and a lot of drives are conducted from various companies. No doubt most of the drives are CSE/IT-based. Companies with decent packages come in. You'll have to compete with everyone to grab the opportunity but it'll be worth it. Tons of events - May it be Cultural, Sports, or Academic. There are numerous events held on the University campus itself.
