For applying in St. Xavier's College, Kolkata to do BMS, you must have 60% in aggregate and a minimum of 45% in each subject. After that, you will be selected on the basis of your 50% entrance exam marks and 50% aggregate marks of your boards. Usually, the cut-offs are near about 90%.

Watching films does help but specifically mentioning any particular type of film is hard. Foreign films mainly Hollywood, Indian films (mainly the award winning movies). Movies made by Ray, Sen, Ghatak & Sinha get the place in question paper in terms of objective questions. So, knowing basic information about this films will help you. Except this, current affairs and some basic general knowledge will be there, for that, you can take help of any current affairs magazine, like Manorama.
All the best.

Your compulsory subjects are English and maths/business maths/stats.
Your +2 aggregate % will be based on 4 subjects: English + maths/stats/business maths + any 2.
So, your got 3 options, in whichever subject you score more, add it up!
However, your question pattern and syllabus, you will get to know after your boards results are out!
No worry, I'm sure you are gonna crack it!
If you face any doubt, do revert back!
Best wishes!
