Any score is good, if your dream university is accepting your application. It totally depends on several factors such as country, university, and course. Keep in mind, a lower SGPA can sometimes be compensated for by other factors of your application, such as strong standardized test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, GMAT), relevant work experience, impressive letters of recommendation, and SOP.

SAT exam history dates back to 1926, where the exam contents evolved from an Army IQ test. It was conducted by the non-profit organisation - College Board, which is still the official adminstrator of the SAT exam. The exam was designed to test the meritocracy of the applicants applying for colleges in the US from high school irrespective of their previous academic backgrounds. The SAT exam in 1926 tested applicants on Arithmetic, Logic, Reading, and certain Definitions of terms which was taken by 8,000 students. While both SAT and ACT solve a similar purpose of understanding an undergraduate's readiness for college admissions, both are designed differently and tested differently. Understand the key difference to know which one is easier - SAT or ACT from the section below:

  • SAT is a digital exam, whereas ACT is tested on paper plus availability of digital format is meagre.

As such there are no limits to take the SAT exam, or prescribed by College Board as such. The applicants can take SAT exam as many times as they wish to. Usually, as per College Board, the applicants take SAT exam once or twice before app;ying for admissions, the reason being that colleges pick the highest score from either of the two attempts. Since SAT is conducted seven times a year, applicants can choose their preferred dates for taking the SAT once or for the second time as well.
