Students can raise their chances of being selected by following the advice provided below:

  • Satisfy Admission Requirements
  • Throughout high school, students should make an effort to keep their GPA as high as possible. 
  • Achieve Excellent Standardized scores. Try to achieve SAT or ACT scores that are similar to the average of students admitted to FSU. 
  • After-school Activities. Participate in extracurricular activities that highlight  qualities that round out your application.

York is a competitive college to get into. Its admission standards are easy but the applicant competition is high. The acceptance rate of the college is 59%. It is a test-optional college so students don't need to submit the SAT/ACT scores however, the average SAT score composite at CUNY York College is  970 on the 1600 SAT scale. Students having a GPA of 3.15 or better have a high chance to get into. Test results for English proficiency must meet minimum requirements for international students.
