The University of New Mexico SAT requirement is optional. However, if the applicant wants to submit they can. Submitting a strong SAT can add value to the portfolio of the prospective applicant. However, if the student is submitting the university expects a minimum SAT total score of 1130.

International students have to submit their IELTS score to meet the English language University of New Mexico requirements. However, the university also approves other English tests such as TOEFL, PET, and Duolingo were completed within 2 years of the applicant's course date at the University of New Mexico rather than the general 2 years. The following score is the requirement of IELTS for UG and PG for the University of New Mexico:

Below are the qualifications an applicant must have before applying for the University of New Mexico:
Applicants must be full-time students to avail of the scholarships.
Prospective students must have a good GPA, a minimum of 3.5 GPA on a US scale in upper secondary/ high school coursework
OR
3.0 GPA on a US scale AND either an ACT score of 26 or SAT score of 1240
Non-immigrant visa status (Preference is given to student visa holders- F1 or J1.)

Students must a candidate must be academically excellent in order to secure their spot in the university. Fulfilling the required Grade Point Average is one of the major entry requirement at the University of California, Los Angeles and international students must maintain a GPA of 3.4 or higher on a 4.0 scale in order to boost their chances of getting admitted in the university.
