The University Scholarship Application opens each year in January and is due at the end of April. Some of the scholarships for the internationl students are:

Deparmental Scholarship

Award amounts vary and selections can be based on need, academic merit, as well as representative talent within corresponding department or major. 

External Scholarship

External scholarships are available to students from organizations and agencies outside the University. We encourage students to avoid search services that charge a fee.

Yes, the university offers various scholarships to its qualifying international students.

Undergraduate Scholarships

Undergraduate applicants can apply for merit-based scholarships offered on the basis of GPA and application materials. Up to 100% of the tuition fees can be covered by these scholarships.

Freshman applicants with a GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 US scale may receive the NSP (National Scholarship Program).

It comes with an award of USD 17,181, which is the difference between the tuition fees of domestic and international students. The award can be renewed for up to 4 years.

University of Vaasa accepts country specific English language qualifications, hence an Indian student can study in the University of Vaasa without IELTS/TOEFL scores if they fulfill the requirement listed below:

  • Indian 12th (XII) Standard English or English Core with a minimum grade of 80% or A2 (CISCE & CBSE boards only.

Note: If an Indian student is unable to fulfill the criteria listed above, they will have to submit an official English exam score in order to get enrolled in the University of Vaasa.
