Symbiosis Institute of Technology selects candidates for PhD course based on entrance-exam score. The institute considers GATE/ UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ SET/ SLET for admission to PhD. Aspirants who do not have a valid score in any of the accepted entrance exams can appear for a test conducted by the institute. Selected candidates are further called for a personal interview round.

Candidates must pass one year or two-semester master's degree programme after a four year/ eight semester bachelor's degree or two-year/ four semesters master's degree course after three-year bachelor's degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate can apply for PhD course. There is a 5% relaxation in the aggregate for SC/ST/ Differently-Abled candidates.

Besides, aspirants also need to pay an application fee of INR 1,500 to register for M.Tech programme.

Yes, SIU offers Sports Scholarship to SIT Pune students. Under this, a total of 5 scholarships are offered. The amount awarded is INR 24,000 to each of the five students. The scholarship is awarded to students based on sports performance in recognised competitions held during the academic year. Candidates can apply for the scholarship on the official website of SIU.

SIT Pune offers merit scholarship to semester toppers for UG and PG courses. The scholarship is offered to first four toppers in the order of their merit of every batch of every course in each semester.
