Hi Madhav,
Eligibility criteria for becoming a school teacher in government school:
-Class XII (any subject) followed by training in polytechnics and vocational training centers or Montessori Teacher training schools
-Class XII (any subject) followed by diploma in education or Bachelors in education (B.Ed)
-Class XII (any subject) followed by B.Ed. degree after graduation. These are Trained Graduate Teachers(TGT's) and after Post-graduation are Postgraduate trained teachers(PGTs).This training is imparted in teacher's training colleges.

Eligibility to be a Lecturer:
Educational Qualification :
To be eligible to be a lecturer one should hold at least a Master Degree in any of the relevant subject with at least 55% marks in it. Higher qualifications are always preferred. Interested candidate has to appear in UGC-NET exam which is held twice a year and pass it. After clearing UGC-NET exam one is eligible for applying as a lecturer in any collage affiliated with any of the university recognized by UGC in India. Hi,
Kendriya Vidyalayas take only B.ed qualified people , whichever stream (graduation) you belong to you can apply for K.V if you are B.ED.
Central Government conduct entrance examination for the post of TGT and PGT.
Entrance examination has two stages
1.written examination
2.personal interview.

Hi Sumeet,
You need to take Haryana teacher Eligibility Test to apply for PGT Teacher in any government school. This test is conducted in three categories:
- Level 1: who wants to be a primary teacher
- Level 2 : who wants to be a trained graduate teacher
- Level 3 : who wants to be a post graduate teacher

Minimum Qualifications for direct requirement to the post of Assistant Professor (lecturer) Qualifications for TEACHING POSTS will be as laid down by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and as adopted by the University, from time to time.

Hi,
1. If you wish to be a teacher in school, then go for B.ED and crack Teacher Eligibility Test. Eligibility conditions are:
(a) Bachelor's Degree with 50% marks in aggregate in the 10+2+3 or 11+2+2 pattern, or with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in the 10+2+2 or 11+3 pattern
(b) Having studied at least two subjects at the bachelor's degree level, to be later taken as school teaching subjects
2. Else if you aim at being a lecturer, then I would advice you to go for a regular masters degree in a relevant discipline and clear U.G.C NET conducted mainly to recruit research assistants and professors in various streams of education.

To become an Arts teacher, you need to have competency and certification in Arts. You need to have a basic degree before going for BEd. If the basic degree is in Fine Arts or such simila discipline, it will be very much preferred. Other wise, you need to have a BA/BSc/BCom and then a government recognised diploma in Art/Commercial Arts/Fine Arts, etc and then a BEd. Good Luck

In order to become a lecturer in any recognized university in India , one needs to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
