The UPTET certificate is now valid forever. Ramesh Pokhariyal, Indian Education Minister has announced that the validity of the TET certificate is extended for a lifetime. Earlier the validity of the certificates was 5 years. Candidates qualifying for the UPTET 2025 exam will be the first batch of candidates with a lifetime UPTET certificate. They can apply for teacher recruitment in Uttar Pradesh schools at any point in time till they fulfil the eligibility criteria fixed by the respective recruiting agency.

The UPTET (Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) is a state-level eligibility test conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) to recruit eligible candidates for teaching positions in primary and upper primary schools in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is a mandatory exam for candidates who wish to teach in government schools in Uttar Pradesh. The UPTET exam is conducted in two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for candidates who wish to teach classes I to V, while Paper 2 is for candidates who wish to teach classes VI to VIII.
