Well, MBA from marketing sector is totally based on the market management. And, joining tourism and hospitality sector is a very different field. Tourism and Hospitality is based on giving comfort to the people and job opportunities are very different in this field.

Hello, Hospitality, Tourism and Travel these are three words and three areas which are really closely related. One is dependent on other. These three perhaps cannot survive without each other. However, combination used invariably is either "Hospitality and Travel" or "Travel and Tourism". Thus it can be seen that Tourism is common word or thread between these two sets. Tourism is a booming industry offering many job opportunities in the sector.
As this is an upcoming sector hence there are certain mandate skills required to excel in the field:

Yes, softwares are involved as once a booking is done the same needs to be updated with all concerned departments immediately to avoid confusion hence a software is required.
List of software involved in ticketing/reservations are:
-Galileo CRS
-Amadeus
-Sabre
-Worlspan, etc.
The various version of these software keep developing based on the company and any additional features that are introduced.
