As per a few unofficial sources, UCLA ranks better in areas like English, Biology and Psychology. But, for the STEM disciplines, especially Engineering and Computer Science, UC San Diego has a great reputation. Also, note that the research opportunities are in abundance at both universities. Furthermore, the social environment at both universities reflects their locations. Yes, the GRE General Test is required for admission to UC San Diego MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering. A bachelor's or MS degree in Physical Sciences, Engineering, or Mathematics from an accredited university or college is required. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
