The UTokyo acceptance rate is 34%. This means, that getting admission to the university as an Indian student is competitive, but possible. The university gives priority to students with great academics and a strong portfolio. Students who do have the same have a very good chance of getting in.

The admission process at UTokyo is divided into 2 stages. In the first stage, students submit an online application via the university website. The university process these documents and clear the same. In the second stage students go through screening. This is an interview round. Students should be well prepared and answer why they should be allowed to study at the university.

Yes, UTokyo requires its students to demonstrate decent proficiency of verbal & written English, & therefore does accept popular language test scores like IELTS & TOEFL into consideration.
The minimum IELTS requirement varies for different courses, however, given below are the general scores deemed acceptable for admission by the institute:

Securing an admission to the University of Tokyo for MS courses is a competitive affair, but not impossible. International students must fulfill the admission requirements listed below order to boost their chances of pursuing the University of Tokyo MS programs:
