While appearing for UPSC IAS prelims, you should ideally start from reading the syllabus of prelims and mains. Read NCERT for subjects like History, Geography and Economics to lay a good foundation. Reading The Hindu newspaper and Yojana magazine regularly make you stay aware to the current affairs. Refer M.Laxmikanth for Polity, and GC Leong for Geography. Practice writing answers regularly and focus on repetitive revision. Work hard and be consistent in your study/preparation. Suti.

Yes, you can appear for the UPSC exam after doing a B.Com LL.B 5-year course. UPSC Civil Services Examination allows the candidates who hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university. That's what your integrated B.Com LL.B degree provides for you. It would help much if you had some background of law because that would definitely make you shine if you chose law, public administration, or political Science as your optional subject in the Mains exam. Ensure you fulfill all the eligibility criteria, such as age limits and nationality.

A recent passport-sized photograph is also required, as and when specified by the UPSC. Candidates should prepare to present all relevant papers that the candidates may need to avail themselves during the examination, along with documents relating to application confirmation page if required. Attention should be paid to strict adherence to instructions on admit cards, to avoid getting into a jam on test day.

The last date for download of the UPSC admit card usually differs with respect to every exam. Generally, for CSE and other UPSC exams, the admit cards are available for download almost 3 weeks before the date of examination. The link for downloading the admit card remains active until the day of the exam, but it's always better to download it early to avoid any last-minute troubles. The aspirants are advised to visit the official UPSC website regularly for updates and download the admit card before the day of the exam.
