The VELS School of Engineering is one of the engineering schools under the VELS Institute of Science, Technology, and Advanced Studies, an institution recognized for its engineering programs, though it's not ranked among the best colleges in Chennai. VELS School of Engineering has very strong results in course-wise placements with its B.Tech programs. Of the 519 B.Tech graduating students in 2023, around 89.98% got placed with a median package at INR 4.20 LPA. The M.Tech program also saw very good results; about 94.9% of the graduating 59 students got placed with a median package of INR 4.30 LPA. Overall, the university managed a general placement rate of around 74.49% and specific courses such as the one-year PG program are reported to boast a perfect placement rate of 100%. You may not get direct admission into VELS School of Engineering for getting into the B.Tech course. The major form of selection for the course is through the VELS Entrance Examination, which, if passed, qualifies you to join the program.
