The Veterinary Council of India (VCI) exam refers to the All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT), now replaced by NEET-UG for BVSc admission. However, VCI conducts licensing and registration processes for veterinary graduates.

For foreign Veterinary graduates, the VCI conducts a qualifying exam to assess their knowledge before allowing them to practice in India. Registration with VCI is essential for legal Veterinary practice across the country.

Yes, obtaining a license is mandatory to practice Veterinary Medicine in India. Graduates must register with the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) or the respective State Veterinary Council (SVC) to get a valid license.

The registration ensures that the veterinarian meets the required ethical and professional standards. Without a license, individuals cannot legally diagnose, treat animals, or establish a veterinary practice in India.

Yes, BVSc graduates can pursue PhD programs in Veterinary Science and related fields. To be eligible, they typically need to complete a Master's degree (MVSc) in a specialised area such as Veterinary Pathology, Animal Genetics, or Veterinary Surgery.

Some universities may allow direct admission to PhD programs after BVSc with exceptional academic records. PhD programs focus on research, innovation, and specialization, leading to careers in academia, research institutions, and the pharmaceutical industry.

The likelihood of obtaining a veterinary seat in a state government college appears almost nonexistent due to your KCET ranking of 100000. Government veterinary college admission criteria sit below 5000 to 20000 on the rank scale. There exists a possibility for admission to private veterinary colleges even though getting into a government college likely remains impossible. The cutoff ranks at P.V.N.R. College of Veterinary Science and PES College of Veterinary Science along with Veterinary College in Bidar fall within 50000 to 100000. The annual costs for veterinary studies at private colleges fall between INR 1.5 Lacs and INR 3 lakhs.
