Seems you know very less about engineering in India.
VIT is not even par with top 10 NITs and top 4 IIITs.
DTU, DAICT, NSIT, LNMIT, PEC and even Thapar are better than it.
Then how can you compare it to IITs.

To get the main campus of VIT University, you need to have a rank of below 4000 in VITEEE or else, you may have to pay more money to get a seat in the main campus.
If you want to take admission in any of the VIT campuses, you can have the rank of up to 50000 in VITEEE and if not same you have to pay more than the normal fee i.e different category fee to get admission.

VIT is better followed by Manipal and then Thapar. Since this college has the best of placement, infrastructure, education, opportunities and exposure to the real world. Though VIT and Manipal are almost the same in all the above terms and these two are better than Thapar.

12th marks are only required for being eligible to give the entrance tests of the institutes. For BITS, it is aggregate 75 % in physics, chemistry, and maths with 60 % and above in each subject. But for a general perspective, a higher percentage in 12th certainly enhances your opportunities and chances throughout your career.

BITS is any day better than VIT for any specialization. The pedagogy, infrastructure, and placements are far better than VIT. Plus, the campus life you get at BITS Pilani is amazing and unmatched. So, I would suggest you to go to BITS!
