Yes, VIT University is a really good choice for EEE. It has a better infrastructure and provides better education.
There are not as many core companies for placements in EEE but you can get a job if you are well versed and able to equip yourself. You may also get a good package as the companies would be mostly reputed.
Since it is a core branch of engineering, I would advise you to do some specializations in M. Tech after B. Tech.

Yes, VIT University is doing great in placements and that too in recent days. It has gained a fair amount of reputation that makes it even more great.
It offers numerous placement opportunities and the number of students getting placed is also high. They are also offered good salary packages.

There is no particular cutoff mark but the admission is based on the All India rank that you get in VITEEE. To get civil engineering at VIT, Vellore, your rank should be at least below 5000.
