VNIT Nagpur admissions are based on JEE Main scores. The cutoff was released for the third round, for different categories belonging to the All India and Home State quotas. Among the General AI quota, the closing ranks varied between 709 and 42319

While OBC AI category candidates faced cutoff ranks between 405 and 14336, for admission to different BTech specialisations. Students may look below for a branch-wise cutoff rank comparison for General AI category candidates:

97 percent score in the JEE Mains entrance exam may not be enough for VNIT Nagpur BTech admissions, if the candidate belongs to the general category. The competition for VNIT Nagpur BTech admissions is very high with closing ranks ranging between 832 - 58063. Candidates are advised to prepare for a percentage higher than this to guarantee admission at VNIT Nagpur.

NIT Nagpur M.Tech, M.Sc. And Ph.D. admissions are held according to GATE cutoff. NIT Nagpur GATE cutoff depends on several factors such as:

  • The difficulty level of the GATE question paper.
  • The number of candidates taking the paper.
  • The total number of available seats.
  • Marks obtained.

VNIT Nagpur cutoff 2024 was released for Round 1. As per the NIT Nagpur cutoff 2024, the Round 1 cutoff for Computer Science Engineering was 5304 . This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in VNIT Nagpur.

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For VNIT Nagpur cutoff 2023, the opening rank was 5515 and closing rank was 7087 during the JEE Main Round 6 for the general category candidates under All India quota. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 8500 and 10532. Admission to Computer Science Engineering in VNIT Nagpur is based on the scores obtained in the JEE Main entrance exam. M.Sc. in Physics at VNIT Nagpur provides two year course program and to pursue this course one should qualify in entrance test like ICET test and cut off is 65 to 90 percentage and fee structure is 26K to 50K

It depends on perspective of every individual, I would like to share my perspective.
Civil is a good branch, you have so many interesting subjects to learn, many people choose to avoid giving civil a preference 'cause they think Civil me placement nahi hota' 'Construction site par kaam karna padega .But civil has so many sub branches (Structural, Environmental, Transportation, Water Resources, Construction technology, etc) which gives a good opportunity for further studies.
I agree that the placement scenario of civil is poor if you compare it to Mech, CSE, ECE, EEE , but if you are good with your subjects it shouldn't be a problem.

No one can accurately predict the opening and closing ranks for a particular college. It depends on your branch and category. You can have a look at last year's opening and closing ranks. That should give you a fair idea.
