The majority of students received job opportunities at AMET Chennai placements in the operations sector. Apart from operations, students received placement in Engineering, IT, Military and Protective Services, Business Development, Sales, Education, Project and Project Management, Administrative, Quality Assurance etc. The University owns a placement cell called, the Centre for Placement and Training. The placement cell focuses on developing soft skills and qualities that the students will require during the time of placement.As per the AMET Chennai placement stats for 2023, the UG 3-year programme witnessed the placement of 270 students. The median package received in the placement drive was INR 3.5 Lakh, while the median package for the UG 4-year programme was INR 5.25 Lakh.

The University has a faculty of Maritime Studies, Engineering and Technology, Commerce, Life Sciences, Management Studies, Advanced Computing Science, Liberal Arts and Science and Humanities. Candidates can pursue MTech or MSc which are 2-year courses with tuition fees of INR 70,000, whereas, BSc candidates will be spending INR 4.5 Lakh – INR 12.6 Lakh, depending on the specialisation opted for. AMET Chennai provides BE course of 3-4 years duration with tuition fees of INR 3.6 Lakh- INR 15.4 Lakh. Therefore, it can be concluded that AMET Chennai has a decent fee structure that is economical and encouraging for the students to opt for.

The AP Moller- Maersk- AMET Centre of Excellence is the prime facility designed to cater to the skill development and training needs of the cadets. The MoU signed with AP Moller-Maersk agreed to provide placement opportunities to the Deck and Engine Cadets from AMET Chennai only. Similarly, partnerships with V. Group and Wallem Ship Management facilitate exclusive recruitments for the cadets of AMET Chennai. The partnerships and collaborations also bring resources for AMET Chennai to provide training and learning experiences for the freshers further on.
