B.Sc. in Nautical Science - Batch of 2026

One of the best institutes for marine courses.
Placements: Many companies have already come for placements like Maersk V Ships wallet, etc. Almost half of the batch got placements in many of them. They also have STCW courses and other firefighting and post courses. By doing all this, we get extra knowledge and become fit to go on board.
Infrastructure: Hostels are okay to stay in, and all are within a compound. The classrooms are also very nice. Talking about the food, it is very good, especially the dinner. There are a total of 4 hostels inside the campus for marine students, 3 for boys and one for girls, which are well-maintained throughout the year.
Faculty: Semesters are quite hard, but the faculty makes it easier for you, and they are easy subjects. Along with that, they have practicals to train us to be fit on board. AMET University is a DG-approved college in collaboration with Maersk, and it is also the first maritime college in India.
Other: Best level of education along with extra events like sports and culturals.

MBA in Shipping and Logistics Management - Batch of 2022
5.0
Overall it is the best college for an MBA.
Placements: About 55% of students were placed. The lowest monthly salary is Rs. 20,000. The highest package provided is Rs. 90,000, and the average monthly compensation is Rs. 45,000. Reputable recruiting agencies hire people from our college. The government also hires students. Almost 39% of the students in our course were successful in landing internships.
Infrastructure: The best facilities of this college include Wi-Fi, the best library with the latest edition of books, modern classrooms, and a playground garden. The hostel is also excellent and provides high-quality food in the mess and canteen. Overall, the college has a perfect infrastructure which includes a newly built auditorium, library, playground, canteen and classrooms.
Faculty: Teachers are incredibly helpful and kind, and participating in college societies allows you to form positive relationships with teachers from other departments as well. The course material is pertinent to preparing students for corporations and insurers. In our department, 95% of students passed the semester examinations, which are challenging enough to prepare them for more difficult exams.

BBA in Shipping - Batch of 2027
3.4
It has a satisfactory college life with scope for better industry exposure.
Placements: Around 50 percent of students get placed in the campus recruitment. The lowest package offered is 3 LPA, and the highest package offered ranges from 6-7 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Maersk Logistics, Ships, DHL, etc. Almost 90 percent of students in my department get internship opportunities in the Flipkart Warehouse. Roles offered are shipping executive, shop agent, shop catering, freight forwarding, etc.
Infrastructure: The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The department has its own library and computer lab. The hostel facilities are average, and rooms are mainly shared by 4 or 6 people. The food is average, and there is a lack of hygiene in the hostel and mess premises.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality of 80 percent of teachers is average. The course curriculum is relevant to the industry and does give students industrial knowledge. Semester exams are not easy in most cases. The question papers are set to be more difficult and to require practical knowledge.
Other: I chose the course because of the value of the certificate, and we can also work in various ports, as well as shipping and logistics companies. I wish they would provide more shipping subjects in each semester than having only 1 or 2. Several events are conducted by the different departments of the university.

AMET University in Kanathur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Placements: I think in 12th grade, a student with above 50 percent in all subjects is eligible. The college offers placement for students with companies like Marks, M.Sc. and Evergreen. The students should have good skills, and they should develop their communication and a role to fit into a company.
Infrastructure: The campus has Wi-Fi with a high range, and it's free. The classrooms are technologically advanced by using projectors and online teaching by showing PowerPoint presentations. The computer labs are used for projects and other uses. The library is also good having a peaceful atmosphere. The college has its own hostel, which has high security, cameras and rules. The food is also provided 3 times a day.
Faculty: The faculty members in the college are very supportive, they help students and teach well. They give a course curriculum that helps to know about our subjects. The notes given by the teacher are very important, which help in the exams.
Other: I chose this college because I wanted to study about shipping and logistics course, and this college is a suitable one for my course.

Good college for those who genuinely want to learn.
Placements: AMET University offers great placement opportunities as topmost companies of the world visit our campus for campus placements like M.Sc. Maersk, Fleet Management, K Line, Dynacom Tankers, etc. A lot of good companies such as CMA CGM and Pacific Eastern Shipping are showing interest in hiring the cadets of AMET University.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent for the number of students in the college. For all the courses such as BE Marine, B.Sc. Nautical, BBA ETO, GME, and many more, college accommodates very nicely and allows a healthy and clean environment for the students on the campus.
Faculty: The professors of the college are well-seasoned and experienced in their domain of maritime. With retired chief Engineers and captains as the professors, the students get experience from their knowledge, which is not confined to textbooks but includes actual real-life experiences.
Other: AMET University offers a great platform for maritime education and training, as the college promotes the overall well-being of students, not just academics.

Insight for your future at NIAT X AMET.
Placements: Around 90 per cent of students get placed. The highest package is around 9 LPA, the average is about 7 LPA, and the lowest is roughly 3 to 4 LPA. Top companies include Microsoft, Google, IBM, Zoho and Cognizant. Many first and second years get internships through college events, workshops and support activities. Common roles offered are Software Developer, Trainee Data Scientist and UI UX Developer.
Infrastructure: The department has good classrooms, labs, Wi-Fi, and access to the library, and the facilities are maintained well. The hostel facilities are decent, but the food in the mess is not that great, and the canteen is a bit expensive. The hostel timings are strict, while medical support and sports options are available and okay overall.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is very good. The course curriculum is relevant, and it helps students become industry-ready through practical exposure and workshops. The semester exams are moderate and manageable, and most students pass with a good pass percentage.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in CSE AIML, and it matched my future goals, and the best things are the practical learning, workshops and the supportive faculty. I wish the course could have a few more advanced hands-on sessions and industry interactions. The campus has good events, an active crowd, workshops, fests and extracurricular activities and the surroundings and connectivity are decent overall.
