Hi,
Yes, JNTUK is a good University. Almost all of the private colleges in 8 districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh are affiliated to JNTUK.
People consider JNTUK is the best college after JNTUH and the best compared to JNTUA.
Note: Here we are not discussing about AU, OU and SVU.
When it comes to newly formed Andhra Pradesh, you can consider JNTUK as the second best college in the entire state, AU being the top best college in the state.
Coming to the class environment, you will see bright students around and can definitely learn something from them.
Kakinada (East Godavari) is a great place with traditional culture. Give and Take Respect policy is highly followed here. Every random person here offers his/her respect when they approach you.
There's no food problem here. East and West Godavari districts are food surplus districts. Besides, Kakinada is well known for sweet known as Kaja.
If you are looking for campus placements, oh yes, you will see good IT companies visiting the campus for hiring students (both Bachelor and Masters).
University Cons:
Since most of the university staff is government job holder, they behave like lords. Especially you will see this nature in non-teaching staff who work at Office/Certificate/Exam departments. They comport as if like they are doing some favor to you.
The most important atrocious activity is Exam Paper Validation. When professors grade the semester exam papers, they rarely do the evaluation with complete concentration.
A student is unlikely to see his/her expected marks in the results. Here the point is that there will be high discrepancy between expected and actual results. A student with higher pass potential might fail and a student who anticipates failure in the examination might pass with good marks. Imagine the pain of seeing a failure or pass mark in the favorite subject that you have nailed in the end exam.
Every student who studies in JNTUK or JNTU Vizianagaram or JNTUK affiliated college is conversant with this.
A university will lose its standards and is badly perceived by foreign universities when marks are improperly awarded to a student. The people working in training and placement cell or the concerned people, do not receive the people coming from IT Companies well, when they visit the University for Campus placements.
A Decent University should be able to provide an online transcript directly to any other University or to any third party organization on request.
