Admission criteria for specific colleges can vary, and it's important to check the requirements set by Jesus and Mary College for admission into the English Honours program. Generally, admission to undergraduate programs is based on various factors, including subject-wise marks, overall percentage, and cutoffs set by the college.
While your English marks of 77 are reasonably good, having an overall percentage of 50% may be a concern, as many colleges have higher cutoffs for popular courses like English Honours. However, it's important to note that cutoffs can vary each year depending on the number of applicants and the performance of the students.
To assess your chances of admission to Jesus and Mary College for the English Honours program, it is advisable to check their official website or contact the college's admission office directly. They can provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date information on the admission criteria, cutoffs, and any other requirements.
Additionally, keep in mind that there may be alternative pathways to pursue your interest in English, such as pursuing a BA (Program) or BA (General) degree, and then specializing in English through postgraduate studies. Exploring different options and considering other colleges with more relaxed admission criteria can also be beneficial.
Make sure to research multiple colleges, understand their admission processes, and keep an eye on the cutoff trends. This will help you make informed decisions and increase your chances of getting into a program that aligns with your interests and capabilities.
