You have to wait for 6th or last round of counselling. The last year closing cutoff of SVC in B.Com (Hons. ) was 95.5 in EWS category.

Dear Akash, A degree in broadcast journalism from a renowned institute would help broadening the news vision of the aspirant. One needs to be a graduate to apply in news channels. The outer glitz and glam of newsreaders contains a lot of legwork. Skill sets need to be cultivated and honed. If you want to become Anchor, I would suggest you to go for B.J. M. C. Course. Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication. Lovely Professional University is one of the best universities in the country and will definitely a good choice for B.J. M. C. They offer exposure for this practical course is worth mentioning. One of my cousin has completed B.J. M. C. programme from this University. He shared his experience so I got to know about this course. The programme is designed to expose students to all dimensions of Print, Electronic and New Age Media. The main Focus is on enhancing technical skills of reporting, news design software, video editing, photography, etc. He told me School of Education, Lovely Professional University- LPU is a leading teacher education institution in northern India. The school offers courses from undergraduate to doctorate level. The courses are recognised by the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) and the state government. They have their own in campus media channel- Y TV, where the students work and have hands on experience of the real life media channel scenario. Apart from this there are many other events like Coke Studio, YouthVibe, etc. Taking place where the students are made part of it to give them the filed experience. Most of these things are part of their curriculum. Regular educational trips to various newspapers, channels, etc. Are arranged for students. The School has an enriched library with a huge stock of books, reference materials and journals (print as well as online), and modern lab facilities to support teaching, learning and research. The school is a life-long member of Global Educational Research Association (GERA), All India Association of Educational Research (AIAER) and Indian Association of Teacher Education (IATE). The School follows the NCTE model curriculum in its academic programmes.

If your target is UPSC then college does not matter but it is always good to choose the best option available. Shivaji and PGDAV both are affiliated to University of Delhi. So, there is not much difference, be it year of establishment or brand name. But Shivaji colleges is ranked 51st in NIRF ranking 2020. While making a choice between the two you should consider nearness, extra courses, other activities like N. C. C, N. S. S and other extra circular setup. Best wishes.

For PG courses, there is merit based admission only that much facility. Other university students have to give entrance for PG courses but students of DU with good merit can easily get.
