Delhi University (DU) is listed amongst the country's most prestigious educational institutions. Ever since its establishment in 1922, it has grown into one of India's the largest universities with more than 80 academic departments, 16 faculty members, over 7 Lacs students and numerous colleges affiliated to it. The public institution is spread across two campuses in Delhi, namely South Campus and North Campus. Also, it holds the membership of several well-reputed organizations like the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and Universitas 21. Delhi Technological University (DTU) is ranked 2nd and 34th amongst Best Technological Universities in India as per Times Engineering Survey and NIRF. (a) The candidate should have passed or have appeared in Senior Secondary School Examination of CBSE or any other examination considered equivalent by the University of Delhi.
(b) The candidate should have appeared and secured pass marks in English, Mathematics and two subjects from among the following: Accountancy, Biology, Biotechnology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Commerce, Computer Science, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Geography, History, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology.
(c) The average marks scored in the four subjects mentioned in (b) above for the different categories should be as follows: Category Percentage of marks General - at least 60% OBC - at least 54% CW/PWD - at least 55% SC/ST - passing in Class XII.
So from above Math is compulsory for BFIA course of SSCBS (Delhi University).

Since getting into IIMs is for a class which has millions of students, the average student is probably a 6 pointer. Well, 15% of IIM Calcutta Batch of 2019 are 6 pointers or worse. So, yes, IIM Calcutta has a lot of average students considering only academics. But then, 15% of the batch at IIM Calcutta are exceptions.
