Job Opportunities in India after doing MS in US differs from person to person. It depends on many parameters.
1. ). Experience :-
If you are coming back with 2-3 years of experience in some good company, then you have a fair chance of getting good offers in India as well. But, don't expect that you will be paid heavily, you will still be paid with Indian standards only. If you are a freshly minted MS or MBA graduate from a US university looking for a job in India without any prior experience, you are out of luck. Unfortunately, you will be considered as a Fresher with M.Tech or M.Sc. Degree holder in India. Your job opportunities as a fresh MS degree holder from USA are just like any other M.Tech or MCA degree holder who could not get job in on-Campus selections and is struggling to get a job off campus. Also, most of the top tier companies, select freshers by on-campus recruitment and you will not have the option to get picked by top tier companies, because you did not go to school in India.
2. ). Course/specialisation/ Field :-
Congratulations. If you are coming back with MS in CS you can easily get a job, as there are lot of IT companies. (You know, its not very difficult to get a Job in India with IT or CS background)
Welcome Back. If you are coming with MS in ECE/Electrical Engineering, you again have to put lot of efforts to get an job in Core/ Product based companies. (These companies don't have a large base in India)
I am Sorry to Say, but if you are coming with any other background. Your life is going to be *, for obvious reasons.
3. ). University :-
Universal Fact: From which University you have done your Graduation or Ph.D. is an question which is asked across the World. You can't escape it. Better the University, better chances you have. But don't expect an Degree from UTD, RIT etc. Will change your life in India. Still you have work your * off to get that damn Job. Anything less than Top 30-40 will not change things much. So, better choose your university wisely.
4. ). Experience in India :-
If you have prior experience in India before going for MS, then congratulations you will be in better situation. Your experience will come into handy. You will certainly have an edge over those who have zero experience.
5. ). Transfer: Get transferred to the same company in India :-
Almost all companies now have a base/campus in India.
