The JEE Mains age limit criteria is explained below:
For General & OBC:
As per the JEE Main Eligibility 2018, the candidates must have born after 1st
October 1993 i.e. they must not age more than 24 Years while appearing in the exam.
For ST/SC/PWD:
The eligibility criteria for JEE Mains 2018 says that the candidates belonging to any of these categories ST, SC, PWD can be benefitted with 5 Years of Age Relaxation.
This means that they must have born after 1st October 1988 (Upper Age Limit 29 Years) to appear in the exam.

Well, all these are top institutions for engineering and other research courses. But if you want to choose one of them, then it should be depending on your interest. You need to choose the branch as per your interest and the one that will make you more comfortable to achieve your future goal.
If the field doesn't matter, then go for Aerospace Engineering from IIST from where your chances to go in ISRO would be increased.

Hello Hermione, Always remember"Failure is never final". You can always get better by hard work. It's nice to see your aim of getting into IIST at Trivendrum. Eligibility for this is JEE Advanced and for that one needs 75% marks in 12th. However there are plenty of other good colleges with this branch. IIST has a total of 250 seats every year along with reservation. Also, IIST takes admission on the basis of Advanced and not on the basis of Mains. You need at least under 2k rank for IIST. Rest, it depends upon the cutoff of the entrance which changes every year, which is the marks of 250th student applying for it. Best of luck.
