IIST Online Application Process 2026

Selection Process

On successful completion, the students are awarded a BTech degree in Engineering Physics and MTech. degree in one of the following four postgraduate streams:
- Astronomy and Astrophysics
- Science in Solid State Physics
- Earth System Science
- Optical Engineering
Candidates with a valid score in the following exams: UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ JEST (or) GATE are eligible for the PhD at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. Candidates must apply through the institute's official website. IIST offers PhD in regular, sponsored, and anytime mode. Specialisations covered under PhD are Aerospace engineering, Avionics, earth & Space Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Humanitites.
