Yes, it is a very good opportunity. But then it also depends on the college you're in. If it is one of the top colleges like IITs, then there is no need. If not, then it is a very good opportunity. Do not miss that. Cheers.

It is better than all the other NITs. It is the premier institute for CSE and ECE. It is much better than VNIT, Nagpur.

It does not depend on the college. It totally depends on you.
If you have the skills relevant to the position for which you apply and have caliber matching to the particular company and what it takes to be in the company, then surely you will be recruited, otherwise you won't.

The chances are high if you belong to Odisha state. If you are from All India, then from this year, it is tougher. It's hard to predict because the institute is added to JoSAA for the first time this year, which means there are high chances of high cutoff in All India quota. But the process is same for Odisha domiciled category. So it depends on the quota.
Hope for the best and apply for it.

Hi Kasturi,
Congratulations on such great result, both the colleges are great and it's a hard choice in general, But I'll point some of the difference I know. IIIT Hyderabad, as you know is an International School so, it has an amazing ranking across the world, and it's only Private College in India to make to top 200 of QS ranking at a time. It's has Higher Fee structure than, NIT but With a 100% assurance you'll make more than your fees in a year after graduating from there, so don't consider that point. The faculty and Infrastructure in IIIT H is way better than NIT in Research and Academics. All prof. there have Ph.D. even the newest once and all of them have Ph.D. from top schools in world. But it's not a government. College. But Honestly, IIIT Bangalore Might not sound the option in front of these two but, If you want to go for EC, It's the best college next only To IIT BOMBAY/ DELHI / Kanpur/ Madras and IISc. If you want to enjoy the studies without any bounds, IIIT H/B is the option, and for EC I'll suggest IIIT B, plus it's in Bangalore so you have that as a plus point too. Placement, IIIT B and IIIT H have much better companies and Salaries then NIT Trichy.

Look, it totally depends on you. It depends on your field of interest and what you want to do. I personally feel there are two ways of choosing a college.
1. If you have decided your field and branch of study and you are determined in that than go for the branch irrespective of NIT, IIT or IIIT.
2. If you are unsure of the branch, then I would recommend, first research the course guidelines of the above-stated branches and outcomes of the same and then see which matches your interest best because 4 years is not a short period. Based on your decision, you have to study the particular branch for a long period. If you can see yourself studying that, then do apply. You have to be very careful while deciding this. Now, let's come to the studies, environment and other factors and most important to me. As I have seen, observed and talked to the peers in the IIT NIT and other colleges as well. Teaching is more or less same everywhere. In college, you have to study yourself and it is totally up to you, whether you limit yourself to college level studies or you study more advanced topic yourself, which you can do in every college. So, what all factors are left? Overall development: If you choose any old IIT, you will get tremendous opportunities to showcase yourself. IITs are the best in extracurricular. You name it and they have a club for each and every field be it related to technology, dance, debating, designing, journalism etc. The best platform to develop your personality, to try everything, to be around a good environment, to build good connections and networks is IIT. What I feel personally is, it is the best platform to discover yourself, to discover your interests and what not irrespective of branch. IIIT: They are the best in the field of IT, better than most of the IIT. And the graduation outcomes are awesome. But the extracurricular and the exposure cannot be compared to IIT. But then again, it totally depends upon you. Personally, if I would not have decided the branch then my preference level would be.
1. IIT
2. IIIT
3. NIT
4. DTU
