There is no fixed syllabus for JNU Entrance Exam. However, the questions asked in the entrance are usually from the last studied degree course. For example in entrance exam of M.A. In geography, the questions asked are of nature which a student who has studied geography in his graduation can answer easily. Similarly, for entrance in M.A. International relations, a student should have basic knowledge of political Science and good command of contemporary world politics. The same pattern is followed for other courses and for other entrance exams of JNU. Eligibility for MA Economics is:
Interested aspirants for Economics degree must fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria.
BA (Hons) in Economics subject a minimum aggregate score of 50% at the level of graduation.
Although, the eligibility criteria may differ for entrance exam procedure and merit-based admission process. As in Delhi University, the eligibility for merit-based admissions is aggregate 50% in BA (Hons) Economics done from DU only.

Yes, the Jaipur National University (JNU), Jaipur is a leading centre of education, providing various amalgamated and interdisciplinary programmes of education and research in the country. This university was established by government. Of Rajasthan in the year 2007. The University is a convergence of two professional institutes formed in 2002 by the Seedling Group. These institutes were merged and several new programmes were introduced to form the Jaipur National University. In 2008, the University was accredited and the programmes received an approval by an expert panel of UGC members under clause 2 (f) of the UGC Act. 1956. With the commencement of the School of Distance Education & Learning, JNU has made education accessible to those aspirants who, for some reason, could not be a part of regular stream of education. In JNU, MA politics (with specialisation to international relations) entrance, the questions are based on the graduation level syllabus of political science, history and economics. There will be twenty questions; questions are from each subject above. And you have to attempt five questions from them. Apart from that, all other important aspects of the subject that you have studied in your degree course is important. Even if you have a background of science stream, you can easily get through the entrance. Actually, your previous background does not matter because the entrance is very easy. The best answer JNU expects from you is the critically analyze and your understanding of the subject. The questions is generally covered from these topics:1. Indian National Movement/ Freedom Struggle 2. Indian Government and Politics 3. Comparative Politics 4. International Relations 5. Indian Foreign Policy 6. Indian Political Thought. Focusing on two or three topics of these will be enough. Don't go for all topics as there will be 20 questions out of which you will have to answer only 5 questions. You can have an idea about the questions asked in the entrance by looking at previous years questions. So, to look at previous years questions is a must for every aspirant. Please study on these topics extensively. Internet is a good place to read and also, you should read The Hindu Newspaper and Frontline Magazine.

You can refer to specific books like Bipin Chandra and Ramachandra Guha, they are very helpful and also go through NCERT if you have enough time then do read EPW which is quite helpful in entrance exams of JNU. Do take a look at the last 5 years question paper. Try to solve them.
