For M.A. in Politics (International Relations) at JNU, the general eligibility requirement is a Bachelor's degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 50% marks. However, there are exceptions and exemptions, including:
Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes [Non-Creamy Layer (NCL)], and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): These categories have reserved seats with relaxed eligibility criteria.
Foreign Nationals: Admissions for foreign nationals are through separate categories, including self-financing students and those under the Cultural Exchange Fellowship Programme of the Government of India.
Wards of JNU Employees and Candidates from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh: There are supernumerary seats allocated for these categories.
Students with Disabilities: As per the provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, there are reservations for students with disabilities.
These exceptions indicate that while the general requirement is 50% marks for most categories, certain groups may have different or additional pathways for admission.
