According to the JNU e-Prospectus 2025-26, candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PWD category are eligible for reservation of seats and deprivation points. The eligibility criteria for these categories are as follows:
SC/ST category: 15% and 7.5% of the total seats are reserved, respectively.
OBC (non-creamy layer, central list) category: 27% of the total seats are reserved.
PWD category: 5% of the total seats are reserved.
Deprivation points are awarded to candidates from Quartile 1 and Quartile 2 districts, with 6 points for UG and 3 points for PG programs from Quartile 1, and 4 points for UG and 2 points for PG programs from Quartile 2.
Additionally, the prospectus mentions that candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories who are selected on their own merit with General Category candidates are not counted under the reserved quota.
