Yes, the M.A. in Disaster Studies eligibility criteria differ for the reserved category candidates at JNU. According to the JNU e-Prospectus 2025-26, candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PWD category are eligible for reservation of seats and deprivation points. The eligibility criteria for these categories are as follows:
SC/ST category: 15% and 7.5% of the total seats are reserved, respectively.
OBC (non-creamy layer, central list) category: 27% of the total seats are reserved.
PWD category: 5% of the total seats are reserved.
Deprivation points are awarded to candidates from Quartile 1 and Quartile 2 districts, with 6 points for UG and 3 points for PG programs from Quartile 1, and 4 points for UG and 2 points for PG programs from Quartile 2.
Additionally, the prospectus mentions that candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories who are selected on their own merit with General Category candidates are not counted under the reserved quota.

JNU MBA admission is based on the CAT score, conducted by IIMs. It also accepts CUET-PG scores for admission to MA, MSc, MCA, MPH, MTech, Post Graduate Diploma, and Advanced Diploma courses. Banaras Hindu University admission to the UG courses is based on valid CUET-UG scores. Apart from this, the university also accepts CUET PG entrance test scores for admission to various postgraduate courses such as MA, MSc, MCA, M.Lib.I.Sc., M.P.Ed., MFA and LLM, among others. The University also accepts CAT for admission to MBA and MBA in International Business courses.For DU, The applicant must pass the 12th standard from a recognised board and school. There are no age restrictions in place for CUET or DU admission process. Students with a one-year gap after the 12th are also eligible to apply. Students must choose CUET subjects according to the specific course or programme they want to apply to.
