The institute gained the status of a State private university, and called the ITM University, Gurgaon, in the Academic Year 2009-10 under Act No. 25/2009 by an Act of Legislature of government. Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies offers B.Tech in Automobile Engineering in association with Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Private Limited to impart high-end skills to the students required in Auto sector. The Department has an association with IOCL which helps in providing training in the new emerging area related to fuel development and emission control. The Department offers skill based training to the students in association with NSD. It also runs SAE Collegiate Club for the students. There are eight research and innovation clusters, innovation and incubation center for students.
