No, you will not be considered if you do not meet MITID criteria. Candidate must meet cutoff criteria in their categories to get admission in MITID DAT 2026. If they fail to meet the cut-off, he or she will not be considered for admission. 

DAT examination includes computer-based MCQ (objective) test, subjective test and offline drawing test. Objective and Descriptive Test is a Computer Based Test. Where in Objective Test candidates have to choose the correct option, in Descriptive Test they have to write the correct answer in the text box. Drawing Exam is an Offline Test. For this section candidates are provided A4 size drawing sheets to draw using Pens / Pencils / Colours etc. After the exam is over, the answer sheets are collected, scanned and uploaded for evaluation at the test centre.

The Design Entrance Test (DET) 2026, for admission to the B.Des and M.Des courses at the MIT Institute of Design, was conducted on April 05, 2026.The entrance exam included a Design Aptitude Test and is the 1st stage of the two-stage admission process. Candidates who qualified in the DAT exam had to next appear in a Studio Test & Personal Interview.

The admission to design courses will be based on the final merit list which will be prepared by considering the peformance of the candidate in:MITID DAT entrance examStudio Test and Personal InterviewIt is mandatory for candidates to appear in all the stages of the entrance exam. If the candidate misses out on any stage, he or she will be disqualified.

MITID DAT 2026 application form is open in online mode. Applications submitted in offline mode will not be accepted. As part of the application process, the candidate will have to get registered, fill in all the details, upload documents, and pay the application fee.

The MIT School of Indian Civil Services entrance test will be of 100 marks. The paper includes 50 multiple-choice questions. The syllabus covers different topics such as Current Events (National & International), English, Logical Reasoning, General Issues on the Environment, Data Interpretation, General Mental Ability, Polity, Geography & History of India (up to the 12 standard).
